Summernight Symposium 2008
On 23 Juni 2008, the Summernight Symposium of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants was held in Vienna’s Palais Liechtenstein already for the 10th time. This year’s event concerned itself with the “Russia as an Economic Power – A Look Behind the Scenes”. Holding discussions with Austrian business VIPs were Federal Chancellor Dr. Alfred Gusenbauer, Dr. Gulzhan Moldzhanova (CEO Basic Element), Magna principal KR Siegfried Wolf, UniCredit Board Member Federico Ghizzoni as well as the founder of the enterprise, Roland Berger. The 50th birthday of Managing Partner Dr. Roland Falb was also celebrated during the event.
This year as well, nearly 500 prominent guests from the fields of finance, business, and the public sector had gathered for the traditional symposium – this time in order to discuss the opportunities and risks of the newly strengthened economic power Russia. Among the guests seen were AUA Chairman of the Board Alfred Ötsch, Gebrüder Weiss Board Member Heidegunde Senger-Weiss, Andreas Rudas (WAZ-Ostholding), Post Board Member Walter Hitziger, Regina Prehofer (Bank Austria), Peter Michaelis (ÖIAG), Jürg Zumtobel (Zumtobel AG), Robert Chvátal (Managing Director, T-Mobile Austria), Günther Riessland (Chairman of the Board, Rail Cargo Austria), Ferdinand Schmidt (Spokesman of the Board of Directors, Rail Cargo Austria) and Peter Mitterbauer (Miba). After the talks and the discussions, there was a party in the park of the Palais that lasted until the early hours of the morning.
