Summernight Symposium 2007
On 20 June 2007, the Summernight Symposium was already held for the 9th time. It was the second time that the Upper Belvedere was the venue of the traditional business event. This year's event dealt with the subject “Innovation during times of globalization – Strategies for Europe”. Holding discussions with Austrian business VIPs were Siemens principal Klaus Kleinfeld, Rudolf Strohmeier, Cabinet Chief of EU commissioner Viviane Reding – he had taken the place of his boss, who had become ill, at short notice – as well as the founder of the enterprise Prof. Berger. During the event, the long-standing director for Austria and Eastern Europe Manfred Reichl was also bidden a ceremonial farewell.
This year as well, more than 300 prominent guests from the fields of finance, business, and the public sector did not pass up high-level talks and the following summer party. Among the guests seen this time were Siemens Austria principal Brigitte Ederer, the banker Guido Schmidt-Chiari, the entrepreneur Hansjörg Tengg, Gertrude Senger-Weiss (Gebrüder Weiss), Umdasch principal Reinhold Süßenbacher, Porr Board Member Wolfgang Hesoun, Mayr-Melnhof Supervisory Board Member Michael Gröller und RZB Chairman of the Board Karl Sevelda. Accompanied by the boogie-woogie sounds of two piano virtuosos, there was a party on the terrace of the Belvedere until the early hours of the morning.
